* Barokkbandið Brák lead by the renowned icelandic violinist Elfa Rún Kristinsdóttir was founded in 2015 in collaboration with Elfa´s collegues Guðbjörg Hlín Guðmundsdóttir and Laufey Jensdóttir. The ensemble mainly consists of Icelandic musicians who all share a passion for historically informed performance of Renaissance and Baroque music and seek to bring the music from this period to a wide audience in Iceland and abroad.
Since its founding the group has held numerous concerts in Iceland with great success. Most of Brák’s performances have been recorded and broadcast by the Icelandic National Radio (RÚV) and few recordings are now available online. Barokkbandið Brák frequently collaborates with renowned singers, dancers and instrumentalists from all over Europe giving each individual project its own unique sound and concept.

Barokkbandið Brák won Performance of the year award at the Icelandic Music Awards in 2020 for their concert Brák & Bach at Harpa Concert Hall. The band has received numerous award nominations and great reviews since its founding.

* Icelandic violinist Elfa Rún Kristinsdóttir first came to international prominence in 2006, when she won the Grand Prize, Audience Prize and prize for the youngest finalist in the International Bach Competition in Leipzig. Equally comfortable on modern and baroque violin, she divides her time between solo engagements, chamber music and leading larger ensembles. Her varied engagements for the season 21/22 include several staged concerts at venues such as the Konzerthaus Berlin and the Schwetzinger Festspiele, collaborating with Nico and the Navigators and with director Dan Tanson. She returns as guest concertmaster of Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, plays with ensemble like Il Pomo d’Oro, and directs her own Baroque ensemble in Iceland, Barokkbandið Brák, which she founded in 2015 and leads in several concerts every year, as well as inviting guest artists to enrich the small but steadily growing early music scene in Iceland.
* Benedikt Kristjánsson was born in in Húsavík, Iceland. He started singing lessons at age of 16 under the tutelage of his mother, Margrét Bóasdóttir, at the Reykjavik Academy of Singing and Vocal Arts in Iceland. Benedikt graduated from the Reykjavík Conservatory of Music in 2007. He studied with Professor Scot Weir at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” Berlin, and graduated with honors. He has participated in Masterclasses in Europe by renowned Singers such as Christa Ludwig, Peter Schreier, Elly Ameling, Robert Holl, Thomas Quasthoff, Andreas Schmidt and also the Lied-Pianist Helmut Deutsch. Benedikt won the 1st Prize of the International Bach Vocal Competition in Greifswald in 2011, and was also awarded the Audience Award. He was the Winner of the Audience Award in the International Bach Competition in Leipzig 2012. ​ In 2019 he received the OPUS Klassik award in the category “Innovative Concert”, with a version of the St.John Passion by Bach, arranged for Tenor, harpsichord and diverse Percussion instruments.

Nowa płyta Equilibrium String Quartet inauguruje działalność wydawnictwa płytowego utworzonego przez Międzynarodowy Festiwal Muzyki Dawnej Improwizowanej „All’Improvviso” w Gliwicach

Władysław Żeleński: Kwartet Smyczkowy Nr 1 F-dur op. 28 | Wariacje na temat własny op. 21

Equilibrium String Quartet to jeden z nielicznych w Europie kwartetów smyczkowych, grających na instrumentach historycznych Zespół tworzą:  Sulamita Ślubowska, Małgorzata Malke, Anna Nowak-Pokrzywińska oraz  Tomasz Pokrzywiński. Właśnie temu zespołowi powierzono inaugurację pierwszego wydawnictwa All’Improvviso. Jest to premierowe nagranie dwóch utworów Władysława Żeleńskiegona instrumentach historycznych: Kwartetu smyczkowego F-dur nr 1 op. 28 oraz Wariacji na temat własny op. 21 w 100. rocznicę śmierci kompozytora.

Album pod koniec lipca ukazał się na platformach internetowych, a od września 2022 roku dostępny jest w międzynarodowej dystrybucji.

Leonardo Vinci – „Gismondo re di Polonia”

Opera „Gismondo re di Polonia” Leonardo Vinciego swą współczesną koncertową premierę po niemal 300 latach miała we wrześniu 2018 roku podczas Festiwalu All’Improvviso w Gliwicach. To ponad trzygodzinne dzieło wydobyte z archiwów przez koncertmistrzynię i założycielkę {oh!} Orkiestry Historycznej Martynę Pastuszkę, okazało się być prawdziwą kwintesencją barokowej opery – pełną skrajnych emocji, wyrażanych recytatywami oraz wirtuozowskimi ariami.  Opera jest rzadkim przykładem uwzględnienia polskiej historii przez jednego z czołowych ówcześnie kompozytorów operowych, do których bezsprzecznie należał Leonardo Vinci. Opowieść o  Zygmuncie II Auguście wzbogacona o fikcyjne wątki romansowe i wojenne została osnuta wokół jednego z kluczowych wydarzeń polskiej historii, czyli podpisania Unii Lubelskiej.

W tytułową rolę polskiego króla wciela się znakomity kontratenor Max Emanuel Cencic, któremu towarzyszą inni czołowi soliści operowej sceny: Aleksandra Kubas-Kruk jako neurotyczny książę Primislao, a także Sophie Junker (Cunegonda, córka Primislao), Yuriy Mynenko (Ottone, syn Gismonda), Dilyara Idrisova (Giuditta, córka Gismonda), Jake Arditti (Ernesto), Nicolas Tamagna (Ermanno).

Od 2018 roku Gismondo, Re di Polonia zaprezentowana została w Wiedniu, Warszawie, Moskwie i Bayreuth, a ukoronowaniem przedsięwzięcia jest wydany w czerwcu 2020 r. przez Parnassus Arts Productions we współpracy z Instytutem Adama Mickiewicza trzypłytowy album z pełnym nagraniem opery Vinciego.

Artystyczne kierownictwo nad całością przedsięwzięcia objęła Martyna Pastuszka,  a przy klawesynie zasiadł Marcin Świątkiewicz, kierujący podczas nagrań licznych recytatywów grupą basso continuo.

Nagranie cieszy się wielkim uznaniem słuchaczy i zbiera znakomite międzynarodowe recenzje, otrzymało m. in. nominację do prestiżowej Nagrody Płytowej Krytyki Niemieckiej (Preis der Deutchen Schallplatten Kritik) a prezentacje opery niejednokrotnie określane są “muzyczną sensacją”.

Hiszpański „Le Figaro”, recenzując płytę, jednoznacznie stwierdził: „Młoda barokowa {oh!} Orkiestra Historyczna, prowadzona przez Martynę Pastuszkę, za sprawą piękna dźwiękowych kontrastów sama w sobie stanowi główne objawienie płyty” („Le Figaro”, 10.07.2020 r.).
